Silent Scream wins at the BFI
Thursday, March 22nd, 2012
Silent Scream has won the Young Voice award at the Frist Light Awards 2012. Some of the young women who made Silent Scream travelled down from Bristol to London to attend the award ceremony.
Actor and celebrity Rupert Friend presented the young women with their award and they gave an impressive acceptance speech. After the ceromony the young women talked to the media about the government’s refusal to take FGM seriously and their hope that this award will raise awareness of the issue.
